Response-to-Comments Posted for EL V4 Draft Standard (PTPA Requirements)

The Proficiency Testing Expert Committee posted a Draft Standard for EL V4; General Requirements for an Accreditor of Environmental Proficiency Testing Providers on June 23, 2025. The 120-day comment period closed and the Committee reviewed all comments received. The resulting Response to Comments form was finalized by super majority vote of the Committee and is posted today. The Committee determined that persuasive comments had been received and that a Revised Draft Standard will be prepared and presented for public comment.

All commenters have been informed of the Committee's decision regarding each comment received (i.e., persuasive, non-persuasive or editorial). Consistent with SOP 2-100, commenters are provided with the opportunity to expand, explain and/or justify any comments deemed non-persuasive within a 30-day period from the receipt of their Response to Comments form. Additional comments should be directed to Carol Gebhart ([email protected]) the Committee Chair with a copy to Robert Wyeth ([email protected]) the Program Administrator for the Committee. Any commentor electing to provide such a statement will initiate reconsideration by the Committee. If the Committee continues to deem the comment non-persuasive, an appeal may be filed as per §9.0 of SOP 2-100.
